doesn't count that Stephen King had a lot more to say then in Kubrick's The Shining? I would think it does matter and also that is underrated. For me, this one is better then the 80's shining.

While remaining much more faithful to the book then Stanley Kubrick's adaptation, it's nowhere near as good. Well, what did you expect for a made-for-TV mini-series/film where Steven Weber is your main character?
