Finally, an X-Men movie that strikes the perfect balance between story and action. Whereas other films have tried to focus on one or the other, Matthew Vaughn gets it right here as we see the beginnings of the X-Men and the early friendship of Professor X and Magneto. A cast that seems too good to be true helps (particularly Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult as Mystique and Beast). All said, I'm hoping this film does enough business to jump-start the franchise so we can see where these characters go from here.

It's probably the best of the series. I thought it was great.

One of the greatest Marvel comic adaptations ever made, and comic adaptation in general. It certainly gives The Dark Knight a run for its money. Deliciously stylish, never slowing down but never losing focus on the character interactions. The special effects and action sequences are spectacular and dazzling. Mathew Vaughn has done the X-Men franchise proud, breathing in new life and energy, and never sacrificing the political subtexts on human rights. Michael Fassbender is remarkable as Magneto. Yes, don't miss this one, even if you aren't a fan. And keep an eye out for some welcome cameos!

X-Men strikes again and does not disappoint. There is plenty of action to provide entertainment throughout. The acting is solid enough and certainly does not detract from the movie. Several cameos are a welcome sight and the occasional humor associated with the X-Men series is present. The plot revolving around the Cold War seems a bit simplistic, however I did not go to this movie expecting to watch an American history film. I went to watch an X-Men history film and watch all the mutants display their powers, and in this regard I definitely was not disappointed. This film will fit in great with the other excellent films in the series.
