After hearing that Colin Farrell was going to be cast in yet another reboot this time of 80's classic 'Fright Night' was a little speculative if it was going to be any good and much to my chagrin it in deed was! Now i am no fan to remaking all these movies that Hollyweird do, however there has been a few gems much like this version. Director Craig Gillespie( Lars And The Real Girl, Mr. Woodcock) at least made his own version of the film cause the main thing that i dislike the most about remakes is the director who do word for word remakes of said original( Gus Van Sant's 98 disaster Psycho anyone?) this was a pretty good often suspenseful remake and btw i find Colin Farrell 100 times cooler then Chris Sarandon anyhow!

I usually don't like the remake of a movie over the original but not this time.Compared to the original Fright Night this version was better.I was definitely more into this movie than the 1985 Fright Night. It did stay close to the original but it was more updated & for some reason even though I HATE vampire flicks, I was into it from the start.I'm also not a fan of Colin Farrell at all but he was great as the evil vampire next door

Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) meets his new neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Colin Farrell), who is a vampire. He tries to convince his mom and Amy Peterson (Imogen Poots). Peter Vincent (David Tennant) helps Charley defeat the vampires because of his knowledge and equipments. Score and direction was pulsating and fast paced. Screenplay had a touch of humor and effects were nice. Action towards the conclusion was rapid and Farrell depiction of a vampire was solid. Fight Night is a wonderful horror ride for those who enjoy this genre.

This is another unnecessary re-make, but that doesn't mean that it's not a good movie. Where other remakes have failed, this one succeeds. It's story is similar and different enough, from the 1985 original, that it manages to be it's own film and pay homage at the same time. Also like the original, it stirs the right blend of horror and comedy. It's a well made flick that is just plain fun. Feels mildly refreshing in a year filled with bad 'horror' films at the box office.
