Red State unfolds in a small town dominated by a fundamentalist preacher, Abin Cooper. It tells the story of three high school boys who, on their way to an internet arranged meeting with a woman, end up crossing paths with Cooper. This movie is has some big actors in the film like John Goodman, Kyle Gallner and Anna Gunn. But this movie lacks on characters and this movie is not re-watchable at all and to be honest this movie is kind of forgettable.

Christian Religious fanatics feeling though they are right and everyone else is filth hold down at a cult plantation and have a stand off with the feds. Love how this shows these Fanatics are willing to do whatever they can to remain right, no matter who it hurts, sick..

A group of three guys are on the way to answer an ad from a girl. One of them gets caught by a preacher. Church goers turn violent against the police. Had a good screenplay with quotes from the characters: Keenan- “People just do the strangest things when they believe they're entitled. But they do even stranger things when they just plain believe.” Pastor Abin – “You destroyed your spirit in a waste of shame.” Too many conversations and the thrilling scenes lacked for a horror. Had some technical camera direction coupled with sincere acting but lacks the moments to keep you interested. Red State seems like a message regarding church, state, evils of technology and morality instead of a film.

I kept hearing so much hype about this Kevin Smith movie that I thought it would be something spectacular. In my opinion, It was nothing spectacular at all. Before it started, It seemed to be over & the best thing about it was John GoodmIan.I also heard it was a horror flick & if this was it, Red State was no horror flick

Kevin Smith's first non-comedy is a big change up from his normal routine. There is a great deal of wordy, but heady dialogue that I found intriguing and all the characters have conflicting ideas on what they consider the 'right' thing to do. It's only fault is that, after the initial set-up, it turns into a quick paced action style flick that shoots bullets and ideas at rapid fire and the whole thing is over with too soon. It left me wanting more, but it was still an entertaining and somewhat thought provoking ride.

John Goodman was pretty awesome in his role, however, I was expecting much more as a whole out of this film. Kevin Smith might have had a message here, but all I saw was a lot of violence and easy jokes at the expense of the radical right.
