Those expecting some typical silent horror film will be surprised (as I was). The spooky effects and representation of the afterlife feel authentically one with the genre, but the story is all about one man's redemption of past mistakes. An experience with death brings him and those closest to a shared understanding of their grievances. Guilt and regret are washed away in a poignant climax.
