One of The Best Ever (But Not The Best)

I am a James Bond fan. I have seen all 23 films and enjoy many of them (particularly my top 12 on my current list). But, none of them are 4 star movies and none make it into my top 100. So why do I enjoy James Bond movies so much? There are 7 basic components of a Bond film that can make or break a movie. If you were to combine many of the great 007 movies, a person could easily make 3 to 5 of the greatest movies of all time. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened (yet - I am still hoping) but this is a great one.
#1 Style - I am talking style of the character. What he wears, how he talks, who he talks to, what they wear, what weapons they use. Throw in some good scenery and cars (also on this list) and you have the core of a James bond movie. Skyfall almost nails the Style aspect. Craig …

Skyfall - Par movie, Wish It Was A Bit Better
Nick - wrote on 11/11/2012
This movie is on par with the other two Daniel Craig Bond movies. If you liked the other two, you will like this one. Skyfall has plenty of action, and includes a classic DB5, a Bond must. Maybe the action and plot are too standard? Hard to tell. If I had to choose the best Daniel Craig movie to-date, it would have to be Casino Royale, because it is most memorable to me. This movie probably falls into a must-rent category, but you can probably skip watching it in the theater. Good, but not …

Skyfall - What Goes Up, Also Brings It Down

After an unusually long hiatus, Daniel Craig returns as everyone's favorite secret agent - James Bond. After seeing the dark tone of Casino Royale I admit I was excited, but the disappointment in Quantum of Solace left me bitter. Does Skyfall redeem the 007 series? It does, but I don't think it quite lived up to my expectations.
The opening, in typical Bond fashion - is action packed. A chase along the streets (and roofs) of The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul as Bond, along with a female agent (Naomie Harris), are trying to retrieve a hard drive that has been stolen. M (Judi Dench, reprising her role) is adamant at getting this back at all costs - it has the name of nearly every British agent, including those undercover, and would be a huge blow to MI6. The chase ends on top of a train - M …
