Black (Samuel L. Jackson) and a professor namely White (Tommy Lee Jones) conversing about White's attempted suicide. Both talk more about God, prison, people and life in general. A lengthy talk for 2 strangers in a single location is like eavesdropping to a neighbor. Direction and score was descent. Performances evidently electric coming from these two veteran artists while some flaws like in certain shots, they are positioned differently. Screenplay obviously is the meat of the picture with lines from: White – “Banish the fear of death from men's hearts and they would not live a day.” “When you read the history of the world you are reading a saga of bloodshed and greed and folly the import of which is impossible to ignore.” Black – “The light is all around you but …
