Despicable Me 2 great charm not enough plot

Despicable Me 2 is a great movie just not as well as the first. The movie was funny and cute with some adult humor which i liked. The plot is very liner and theres actually not a lot of the plot. Its fairly simple, Gru (steve carrel) is assigned to help the Anti-Villain League with Lucy Wilde ( Kristen Wiig) throughout the movie Gru starts to realized that he loves Lucy. Thats basically the main plot for the movie.

As others have said the minions steal the show i completely with them most of the laughs that i had was from the minions. i heard that their making a movie mainly based on the minions which is interesting. I would like to see it. the most funniest thing in the movie in my opinion was the villain's backstory. it should be the way Chuck Norris dies.

The movie is great and …

Despicable Me 2 review

"Don't grow old soon..." Its the very line that touches me most since I always tell it to my little boy, which ironically this film as his very first movie experience. The usual cast are back with Gru, three adopted girls, Margo, Agnes, Edith and the minions. This reviewer felt the sequel had more depth since it focuses on the family aspects, overcoming fears (when Gru as a child which will be divulged), work-life balance (minions celebrating) and companionship. Soundtrack was well selected and a better antagonist was introduced, It could have been nice to see Gru become a villain but unfortunately his heart has softened because of the girls. We see a potential though with one of the girls. Dr. Nefario has more screen-time than the first installment, which would be pivotal during …

Fun, but less so than the original

I can't say I didn't enjoy Despicable Me 2 because I did, in fact, have a good time watching it. The gags were funny enough, the visuals are nice enough, and the experience was pleasant overall. But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a little let-down considering this is the much anticipated sequel to the surprisingly funny Despicable Me. It just seems a little weak, even rushed, but I can't deny it's entertainment value and easy appeal that- if nothing else- provides a relatively amusing, if unspectacular 98 minutes.

The paper-thin plot features Gru, adapting to the life of being a father, when out of the blue, he is approached by an agent of the AVL (Anti Villains League) named Lucy Wilde, who wants Gru's help in capturing the villain responsible for stealing a very …

The Minions Steal the Show

Although the film doesn't quite have the charm of the original, for an animated sequel it still holds up remarkably well and once again I have to hand it to the vocal talent involved and, of course, to the antics of the minions. It's unsurprising the little yellow guys with their own language are getting a spinoff - you can't help but be entertained by them.

When we last left Gru (Steve Carell - once again sporting an accent of unknown origin), he had left his villainous ways behind in order to adopt three precocious girls into his home. At the start of Despicable Me 2, he is in full-on father mode - making sure the birthday for Agnes (the youngest, voiced once again with exuberant glee by Elsie Kate Fisher) goes off without a hitch, even if it means playing the role of the Fairy …
