Dancer in the Dark is one of the most emotionally raw and heartbreaking films I have ever seen. At the same time, it is beautiful in its unwavering glimpse into sorrow and survival and the small, hopeful moments that can come within tragedy. The score itself is magical and moving and Bjork gives a totally 110% performance.

I loved it! Mys sister told me it was an excellent, emotionally-charged movie. And, she was absolutely correct. Of course, David Morse does usually make good movies. This one makes me want to watch more Catherine Deneuve movies. I wonder if Bjork has made any other movies.

One of most emotionally powerful and innovative movies of all time and certianly my vote for best musical ever. If only more people had the guts to make a film like this than the cinema world would be a much better one.

I still remember with pain when Bjork lost the Oscar. This movie contains maybe the most powerful performance by a woman ever. Trier's aesthetic concept is always good. I like him. I like how he uses the camera, the lighting. This movie also contains an awesome script that speaks about the human condition. It's a very tough movie, depressing at momments, but at the same time, full of hope. A Masterpiece.
