It isn't nice to mess with Mother Nature!

A group of scientists headed by Medical biologist Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) conducts experiments on three sharks in hopes of finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. However when Corporate big-shot Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) threatens to withdraw his funding the good doctor invites him to come to the underwater facility to inspect their work. But things turn deadly when the sharks develop intelligence as a side effect and wreak havoc on all involved. The trio of sharks has only one thought in mind: freedom to escape from the confinements of their watery prison (and hopefully munch on some human beings along the way) Who will live? And who will bite the dust?

When scientists breed a trio of genetically engineered, super-intelligent sharks for research purposes, wackiness ensues. Jaws meets The Poseidon Adventure in this deeply silly but reasonably well engineered creature feature. It sticks to the usual formula for this kind of thing pretty much to the letter, beginning with a collection of daytime soap opera characters including Saffron Burrows as the well meaning but misguided (as well as hot, of course) mad scientist, Thomas Jane as the laconic alpha male tough guy, SLJ as the straight talking money man and LL Cool J as the token black stereotype and "comic" relief. Things get a lot more interesting when the Frankenfish start chowing down on them which includes some nicely choreographed action sequences and genuine shocks, and the shark …

Don't Mess With Nature

Yes, I find myself enjoying yet another film not cheered by many others, and this one also stars Thomas Jane.
I've always enjoyed Renny Harlins' movies to some degree and this is one of the better ones I've seen.
Again, I rate a lot of movies either on heart or entertainment value.
I find this movie very entertaining, and there are also a few aspects within the movie that I love because they are similar to ideas that I would do in a movie I would make. For example.....what happens after someone makes a very inspirational speech???
This movie is the second cousin to Jaws.....or well...group of cousins because there are multiple sharks. The characters are fairly 2-dimensional but each play their particular roles very well. And the re pore between the cast is very …
