It's a sequel and that's it.

Die Hard 2: Die Harder. More like Die Hard 2: Because every successful action movie needs a sequel.
Die Hard 2 went bigger, but it didn't go better. That just proves to show that some things can't be improved by making them larger.
This time terrorist magnet John McClane is battling terrorists in an airport, which allows him a lot of advantages, and it could have gone a lot of places.
I think the main problem of the film was the weak villain and some of the plot points in general.
We have our typical early nineties action movie formula at hand here, with many things happening on screen to help the audience appreciate and understand the plot more, not for the characters to invest their actions in.
It's not a bad action movie, it has all the good things about a fun thrill ride, and …

Die Hard 2: Die Harder

LAPD detective Lt. John McClane (Bruce Willis) is waiting at Washington Dulles International Airport for his wife Holly. He suspects 2 men with a package. John asks the help of Al to identify one of the men. A mysterious caller lets a plane crash to show an example that the one ridden by General Ramon Esperanza (Franco Nero) should be unharmed. It’s baffling how McClane and the reporter easily enter the air traffic control, so many coincidental sequences, an irritating airport cop and how John gets involved in another Christmas crime scene. Pace of the story moves slowly because of its airline technical jargon's. Die Hard 2: Die Harder is far from being nearly half as good as the original, only difference are more explosives and special effects were utilized, which eventually …

Excellent, though flawed

"Die Hard 2: Die Harder" is a good sequel to "Die Hard", but it could have been better.
There are, in my opinion, way too many spots in the movie where the story is a bit weak. The dialog also gets weak a bit.
This movie is much more violent than the original. Language is also a lot more colorful than the original "Die Hard". Parents, this is not a movie for children.
Bruce Willis does an excellent job in the role that made him a movie star. Most of the other actors seem like they are there just to get a paycheck. "Holly McClane" and "Dick Thornberg" were a waste of film, having "John McClane's" wife on a plane is a good reason to get him involved with the crisis, but I think "Dick Thornberg" should have been in the airport instead of the female reporter who had a role that …

How many bad Christmases can one guy have?

This is the movie that helped me decide never to watch movies on non pay cable stations ever again. After having seen the movie on HBO when it came out, you can imagine my great disappointment to watch it on Fox. The tipping point was when the famous line came around, and expecting to hear the vugarity beeped or muted, you might imagine how insulted I felt when seeing John McClane light the jet fuel look up and say "Yippie Kay Yay Mr. Falcon". It was immediately after that I decided I would never see a movie as great as this on anything less than HBO type channels or official VHS release..hey DVD hadn't come out yet.
The movie itself was the perfect follow up to the original. I loved everything about it. They made a good choice in casting VelJohnson to reprise his roll as St. Al Powell. …
