"Dirty Harry" by Yojimbo

In the pursuit of the gleefully sadistic yet cowardly Scorpio killer, played to perfection by Andy Robinson, Detective Inspector Harry Callahan manages to step on the toes of every one of the bureaucratic superiors he holds in so much disdain. The man with no name may have been the character that made Clint a star, but it was Harry Callahan that made him an icon; he is the personification of tough guy charisma in one of the all-time classic cop thrillers. Don Siegel directs with incredible economy, encapsulating Callahan's character in a brief exchange with the mayor and his methods in the classic bank heist shoot out all within the first 15 minutes. No car chases, no explosions, no romantic interest. Just a brilliantly written, perfectly executed hard-boiled crime thriller scored …

Dirty Harry review

Scorpio (Andy Robinson), a serial killer was responsible for murdering innocent people. Homicide Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) was tasked to handle this case playing by his own rules. The antagonist abducts Ann-Marie Deacon and Harry with his partner Chico Gonzalez (Reni Santoni) chases him. After Scorpio was imprisoned, District Attorney (Josef Sommer) lets him go because of lack of evidence. Scorpio kidnaps a bus filled with children. Callahan saves the children and is left deterred with the justice system. A few memorable quotes: Harry – “I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the …

Memorable Cult Classic Cop Thriller.

A great detective-type thriller that pleases you in ways most cop films play, or even Clint's movies work. You wish for vengeance on the villain too. Even if it means 'circumventing' the law.
Dirty Harry begins a great manly cop-thriller series full of amazing quotes and some cool characters ( when I say that I refer to Callahan and almost no one else.) Clint steals the show, it's obvious. It's always fun to see him at it with these types of roles.
Dirty Harry is a no-bar inspector who won't play by the rules. His judgement towers over his superiors, and most importantly, the law itself. When a mad rooftop sniper named Scorpio makes numerous threats to innocent people, the force gathers the ransom, playing it like Scorpio orders. but if your Harry Callahan, you wouldn't wanna play …

Great Hero and Villian make one memorable thriller

Dirty Harry is the best fictional cop thriller I have ever seen. This is because of Don Siegel's excellent direction, especially the stadium scene, and because of the two lead performances and characterizations. Don Siegel's direction is clear coherent and stylized in just the right way, he does every scene in just the right way. The lead of dirty Harry is well played by Clint Eastwood because he shows both the humor and obsession of the officer in a way so it does not seem over the top. He makes you know that Dirty Harry real does care about the victims he never met. The other lead Scorpio played by Andy Robinson, is one of the most memorable psychopaths ever. This is because he is scary, ruthless and pathetic at the same time, this could seem awkward but Robinson pulls it off. I would …
