Dolittle might be searching for a snail, but it's this movie that's sluggish. A grinding and overlong chore to watch, "Doctor Dolittle" is a Hollywood musical that's worth just forgetting.

Rex Harrison's genial Dr. Dolittle and the film's clever blend of comedy and heart is miles away from the horrific Eddie Murphy remake. This film manages to keep a lot of the magic that exudes from the classic book.

This Doctor Dolittle is much better than the Eddie Murphy remake. It stays pretty close to the book version of Dr. Dolittle. Rex Harrison is great. It is a little slow compared to modern family movies, but it is still pretty good. Probably best for children with some attention span.
