Snarky teen comedy that acts like a combo between 'HOME ALONE' and 'WORKING GIRL'. The dramatic elements don't work as well as the comedy. But luckily it's funny. Christina Applegate shines in this movie as a sassy teenager who has to grow up fast and take care of her 4 mischievous siblings while their mother is away on vacation. To the point where she fakes her resume and gets a job at a major company. There are a few funny supporting roles by Joanna Cassidy as her boss, John Getz as a sleazy coworker, and David Duchovny as a jealous coworker.

By far this is one of my favorite movies of all time. We had this movie on VHS when I was growing up and I watched it so many times the picture was all grainy and not great to watch anymore. Luckily I found it in one of cheap bins on DVD, telling you how many other people think this is a great movie. :) I think the idea that a young girl could help run a fashion company is what made me fall in love with this movie. See this one and let me know what you think.

An interesting take on the No-parents-in-site-type family film. Christina Applegate holds up pretty well, although apparently it's easier to fake a resume than I thought. Good - not great - better than a lot of recent family films.

During the popularity of Married with Children this is one of the few movies that Christina Applegate decided to star. I firmly believe that she is the sole reason why this movie did so well when it came out. It was funny for its time although it is really dated. People that remember the late 80's and early 90's will probably get a kick out of the sillyness of the movie, and kids might enjoy it because of how some of the kids act in the movie. I still watch it when I see it on TV, over all it was a pretty fun movie.
