A Glimpse of an Un-Engaging Film

The story is a simple tale of a guy getting over a girl, via a narrative style similar to that of 'Annie Hall'. However, this film does not contain the character, intellect, charm, or humor of it's reminiscent distant cousin. Instead of examining the relationship, we examine this main character by seeing his random fantasies that happen in almost every scene. Some of these fantasies made me chuckle, but they ultimately feel less purposeful. It's almost like they are present just to showcase multiple movie genres, in a certain time period, from a comedic standpoint. The comedy just isn't all that funny and the story is absolutely dry of emotion. All I could do was sit back and observe the overall visual style of the film, which is about all 'Charles Swan III' has going for it.
