This was so funny when it first came out - the gross humor is the TOPS!

I can see where Katie's coming from but at the same time, its quite clear that it is a (pre-serious phase) Jim Carey movie so you know going in that it will be childish and crude. Though at least in this movie, he doesn't talk with his ass (not that doing so isn't hilarious). Along those lines, the plot maybe weaker than Ventura, I think its a bit less crude as Jeff Daniels serves as a moderating force. Also, the hot pepper scene along with the soothing condiments and the C-bass scene (See Wolf's review) is top notch!

This is a very lame movie, despite what DB and Jonzor might say. The few cheap laughs based mostly on crude, childish humor are unable to save a weak plot and completely unsympathetic characters. Don't waste your time.

Is it really a three star movie? I don't remember, but when I was a kid, it was the perfect comedy. I still have some IOU's out there. See this one if you dare.

The king of gross-out comedies, before the genre became stale and overused. You can't help but laugh at this, no matter how outrageous it gets. Carrey and Daniels team together well, making this one of the best comedies in the 90s.
