If your going to call 9/11 make sure that Halle berry his not on the phone she will get you killed. The film is about awoman working as an emergency operator must confront a killer from her past in order to save the life of a young girl in the present. This movie was a good thriller movie until the ending, I mean the ending was terrible but the movie itself is well done.

'The Call' is a severely mediocre thriller. It lacks the actual thrill. It's routine movie making all around. The portion in the middle that involves the girl being in the trunk of the kidnapper's car is where my interest peaked. After that, it keeps descending into stupidity until it reaches an irritatingly laughable ending. The killer/kidnapper/weirdo is plain goofy and he makes dumb mistakes. His character has no menace. The only plus I can give this movie is the fact that it is short and fast paced. And one could say that the unintended comedy does make the proceedings a tiny bit easier to sit through.

The Call is a solidly entertaining film with a strong performance by Halle Berry and slick direction by Brad Anderson - up until the moronic ending. It's a break-neck action film with lots of crackling suspense and a pretty scary bad guy, but the film's dumbass climax kind of ruins it. It's worth renting. 2.5/4
