After 127 Hours one would wonder what happened to James Franco. Surprisingly he co produces this and tries to be funny. Writing was just iffy and the whole premise just not that funny. There were moments but over all a pretty average comedy which deals with acceptance, friendship, domination and mistrust. So many unrealistic scenes and mostly disappointing nonsensical moments.

The 'Phantom Menace' of comedies. It's decent enough but the media coverage and the fact this actually caused an international incident should suggest that the film is better than what it is. It's not. Seth Rogen and James Franco are fine together and the supporting cast is funny. The best moments are when it milks the premise for what its worth. Such bits include a montage of Franco bonding with Kim Jong Un who's actually made into a funny character who remains scary in retrospect.

Watched it off of Google Play. Wanted to know what all the hype was about. Has it funny moments, like any Seth Rogen comedy. I'd find it hard to believe Kim Jon Un wouldn't be laughing. There are clearly no hidden underlying meanings to this movie. Except for maybe people going hungry? But isn't that a known fact anyway?
