The premise is as wildly outrageous as the action scenes, which should be expected of director John Woo.

The story is about a new surgical technique allows an under cover agent to take the appearance and voice of a crime boss allowing him to infiltrate the organization. This movie was a 90's pop corn movie with over the top John Travolta and crazy Nicolas Cage.

There's a lot of ridiculous action in here, including the gunfight conclusion, but most of it is delivered in fun and exciting form. Cage & Travolta's commitment to their energetic performances also elevates a lot of the scenes. It doesn't really hold the emotional weight maybe director Woo intended, but it is a fun, sometimes silly, action film.

This iconic ballistic ballet from John Woo is so unrepentantly absurd and far-fetched that any effort to view it as serious art would be completely counter-productive. It is mindless and irreparably stupid, but it’s also exceptionally entertaining and remarkably magnanimous in its dispensation of stupendous action sequences.

Average action film made better by the gloriously over-the-top performances of Cage and Travolta. There's some minor cool gunfights, but the bulk of the film is mostly silly. Thankfully, it plays off of the silliness, which makes it easier to look past the terrible writing. It's just dumb fun.

A perfect guilty pleasure movie. Grab some beer and a few friends and I promise an evening of laughter. This film is golden.

There were a few cool parts in this movie. But mostly, it just wasn't very good.

Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 1/2 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Plot: 0/1 + Music: 0.5/1 + Good vs. Evil: 0.5/1 + Special Effects: 0/1 = 6/10 or 60%. John Woo retains his same ol', same ol' demeanor with the hero yielding two handguns and everyone acting slicker than oil. The complete over the top action is fun at the beginning, but then the movie tries to take itself seriously, which is a mistake as it unravels into "who cares?!?" territory.

While this is not the ultimate action movie, it's still a lot of fun. I prefer Cage over Travolta - he has a better "crazy" face. The plot is completely loopy, but hey, that's not what you watch this type of movie for anyway.
