Fanny and Alexander review

It focuses on a wealthy brother and sister Alexander (Bertil Guve), his sister Fanny (Pernilla Allwin). Their father unexpectedly passes away. Emilie (Ewa Fröling), their mother, marries Edvard Vergérus (Jan Malmsjö) who is a strict bishop. Bountiful of characters which lacks introduction and sluggish pace makes this film difficult to view. Strong start though it dwindles towards the middle portion of the picture.
The screenplay is the only aspect worth viewing with lines: "You must be gentle with people." "Everything can happen." "Let us be kind, generous, affectionate and good. It is necessary and not at all shameful to take pleasure in the little world." Plush set-pieces and wonderful wardrobe. So many characters and yet had poor development on each one. It makes the …
