What sounds like the ultimate male fantasy (a weekend affair with an attractive woman) instead turns out to be the worst possible nightmare in this sexy scary thriller. Glenn Close walks away with this movie as Alex Forrest, a beautiful but obsessive woman who has an affair with a married man (Douglas0 and begins stalking his family out of jealousy. Glenn Close is just plain frightening in this movie.

Not a bad movie, not a bad movie at all, but a Best Picture nomination? Really? The 80s were a strange time for movies.

Really good film! Solid writing and directing. BRILLIANT performance from Glenn Close. The thing I loved about her performance is that it evokes so many different emotions from the viewer. As an obsessive ex-lover, she is annoying, infuriating, sick, and horrific, but at the same time she also comes across as a real human worthy of sympathy, even if only for a brief time. Nominated for 6 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress (Glenn Close). I loved it!

The film that introduced the phrase "bunny boiler" to the vocabulary. A deeply average thriller where we are expected to feel sorry for Michael Douglas for cheating on his wife and then casting the object of his lust aside. My heart bleeds. Voyeuristic trash.

Terrifying, brilliantly acted movie about the dangers of having an extramarital affair. Close gives a tour de force performance as the unstable Alex. Lyne's direction is flawless. A classic.

Although there are some unsettling scares, I couldn't take Glenn Close seriously as the villain and found a lot of the acting to be over-the-top and dramatic. Plus the film draws out its ending needlessly in the name of getting a few more "boo" scares into the film, which didn't really work for me.

Top-notch thrilled that still holds up after 20 years (and counting) and is still #1 in psycho chicks (well, maybe #2 after Audition). Could it be the ultimate date movie? Just watch your back...

Wonderfully disturbing. Although it's old, it's still a great thriller. Close is wicked!

An oldie but goodie. The one thing that didn't make sense was that Glenn Close was not very attractive in this movie, though she was crazy as hell. I like how the movie is setup such that even though michael douglas has done a bad thing, it makes you feel like it wasn't all that bad. Thus you really begin to feel his frustration as his confrontation with Close escalates. Even early on you're willing to see douglas do what ever it takes to get that crazy lady out of his life.
