While the cast is sharp in its portrayal of the prehistoric characters, the movie is dull, and lacks the wit and charm of the original cartoon.

The acting, the directing, the writing, are all terrible with no words to put it into place.

I can't believe all the bad reviews The Flinstones have gotten.Watching this movie earlier today brung back memories of seeing it in the theater when it 1st came out.I remember the Mcdonalds Happy Meal Toys & collector glasses.I loved how the movie was similar to the cartoon, The set design, The dinosaur powered gadgets, The cars, etc, etc, etc. I think I enjoyed it as much as the 1st time I watched it. Yabba Dabba Doo!!!

Another example of a TV show that just doesn't work on the big screen. Plus, turning animation into live action almost never works, either. Skip this and enjoy the classic cartoons.

For being based off of a cartoon, it's mostly dull and devoid of fun. The production design makes for a decent distraction from the plot hole filled story and kids would like it more.

Despite the good cast and delightful set pieces, the overall production and story was too commercial. The Flintstones is one of the prime examples of a cartoon that shouldn't have been created for the big screen. It was like watching a sitcom instead of a film.

The only positive thing I can say about this movie is that the production design kind of captures the zaniness of the Flintstones world. Otherwise, the acting is painful, the plot nonexistent, and the comedy extremely lazy. A very, very dumb film.
