Some commendation is reserved for the non-glossy/nostalgic look and feel to the 1980's setting. Everything is urban and grounded. I like all of the actors present. Each has balanced importance in the story. The pregnancy conundrum makes a good centerpiece for the drama. My only main problem is that the story encompasses too many asides. It feels sort of like a truncated version of a television min-series. Starts off solid, only to sprawl with progression. Never got fully invested from the beginning. I wasn't too fond of the adult characters, either. Ethan Hawk is the charismatic standout, but he felt out of place at times.
