The one that started them all, the original "Friday the 13th" maintains its killer reputation despite being the shallowest of the iconic horror franchises.

Gory shocker that is well acted, directed with excellent special effects by Tom Savini. Betsy Palmer is outstanding in the last part of this film.

Betsy Palmer kills! This first in series is my favorite of the bunch. It just got too far out for me to get involved as the series progressed.

The one that started it all. If you saw the other films and haven't seen this one, you may not be able to appreciate it. The film is shocking and remains a horror film classic. Go in with an open mind. Its worth it.

Excellent horror film with an excellent twist. A masterpeice for the horror genre. It is sad that the remake was so crappy and that Pltnum Dunes didn't have enough respect to film it correctly. Kevin Bacon got his big break in this film! Tom savini's amazing make upp job (Sp FX). Great film.

This movie was a masterpiece of horror, and even has inspired a crappy sequel 19 years later. Yes, the sequels were awful, but this movie deserves a spot on every horror movie fan's shelf, as well as in our hearts. This was not the original, but it certainly remains a member of that classical horror genre, when horror was horrifying and thrillers were thrilling.

It may not be the original slasher film, but it certainly made it popular (for better or worse). Out of the big three (Nightmare, Halloween and this) it's the runt of the litter, but it still manages to be tense, creepy and enjoyable.

Took the already established slasher formula and added the gore and sex that would become staples of the sub-genre through the 80's. Some good suspense and a twist ending cap off this rightfully memorable slasher.
