Solid action scenes cannot prevent this grimmy Eastwood thriller from reliance on cliched characters and sleazy exploitative moments whether it be an attempted rape scene or casual dismissal of police brutality. It's Dirty Harry w/o the wit or style but arguably twice the violence.

I've always really enjoyed Gauntlet and would recommend it to people who like campy old action movies or Clint Eastwood.
