Strange but entertaining combination of romance, thriller, fantasy, and even a few touches of horror. Patrick Swayze is very good as the deceased protagonist trying to protect his grieving girlfriend from a sinister conspiracy. Whoopi Goldberg, who won an Oscar for her performance, is alright if a bit too whiny at times.

While forever iconic, there's no way around the fact that "Ghost" suffers from tonal inconsistencies.

Sam promises Molly he will always love and protect when he is mugged and killed he is allowed to stay on earth in a supernatural form to discover the truth about his murder. This movie has great acting by Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg and that soundtrack always makes me smile.

Lame supernatural chick flick that vaguely amuses when Goldberg's phony psychic is on the screen, but the rest of it might have well have been made by Hallmark. Sappy, contrived schmaltz from beginning to end.

I liked how this film becomes more than a sappy supernatural love story, balancing some believable drama and tension and handling themes of mortality and trust. Whoopi Goldberg earns every bit of her Best Supporting Actress Oscar with a comedic and heartfelt performance.

Surprisingly good, if not slightly corny, romance film that has some well placed humor and a memorable role from Goldberg.

Some good moments and some definitely romantic ones, too. Corny as it was, this got me teary and dabbing with tissues.

Very popular upon its release. Whoopi Goldberg's character brought the humor, Demi Moore's some believable drama and Patrick Swaze was okay. A film of trust and love, Ghost is a roller coaster of emotions with a somewhat depressing mood because of its theme.
