Lots of good actors shouting at each other. That's about it for a hundred minutes. Some of them it works like Al Pacino or Ed Harris. I didn't like this as much as I hoped.

Tough as nails and packing an all-star cast, "Glengarry Glen Ross" is an engrossing business drama of a most vicious kind.

The strength in this minimalist drama is in the acting and the writing, which are both razor-sharp. Jack Lemmon, in particular, plays against type to play a bitter and villainous character. The film is adapted from a play and the economy of sets and sights serves the powerful story well.

It's almost uncomfortable to watch this movie that features a bunch of poor real estate salesmen so desperate to make sales and keep their jobs that they back-stab, lie, grovel and otherwise dehumanize themselves. Sounds like great fun, doesn't it? Well, it is! David Mamet adapted his play for the screen and got a stellar cast to work with. Among the most memorable lines are those that are spit out by Alec Baldwin, playing a character who wasn't even in the play.
