With beautiful scenery, a star-making performance by Chalamet, and a moving story that emphasizes sexual awakening, "Call Me by Yoyr Name" broke my heart more than any movie released in 2017.

An extremely elegant film that beautifully depicts the first love of a precocious young man. Timothee Chalamet is hypnotic in the lead as he injects hundreds of lively mannerisms and tics into this role. He has surely cemented his status as a sex symbol for years to come. Unfortunately, though Armie Hammer is also charming as the love interest, he doesn't quite convince as a man in his early twenties, which makes the romance seem a bit more predatory than it actually is. Still, the chemistry shared between the two is undeniable, and that is a rare thing from a romance film these days.

James Ivory beautifully adapted Andre Acimans novel, and gave it the heart, tension, heartbreak, and caring touch it deserved.

Despite some mushiness, the whole thing was so pretty and pleasant that I will forgive it anything. It's not every day that I come out of a movie praising the foley, but wow, the perpetual crickets and birds and lapping water and pop songs on faraway radios set the scene so precisely. And Chalamet does wonders conveying the intelligence and adolescent anguish behind the occasionally mawkish dialogue.

A gay-themed romantic drama which brilliantly presented the nuances of an affair of the same gender and a significant gap on age. Emotionally deep and cinematically powerful. Timothee Chalamet did really well and Im happy he's receiving attention and recognition. Th choice of shots and movements are on point, highlighting the important parts of the film.
