In addition to being intensely solid and well-inspired, it's Martin Scorsese's most iconic film and probably the most defining film in the gangster genre.

The auteur's last absolute gangster masterpiece just before he started to experiment with different genres. The classic actors are back (De Niro, Pesci, Sorvino) and an awesome and stylish screenplay structure allow Scorsese to expand his Italian-influenced ideas and create a magnificent and pop-culture loved flick to open the decade. Its natural and hyperactive flow allowed it to acquire the honor of being one of the 20 films in history that have made me laugh. 96/100

Martin Scorsese explores the life of organized crime with his gritty, kinetic adaptation of Nicolas Pileggi's best-selling Wiseguy, the true-life account of mobster and FBI informant Henry Hill. Set to a true-to-period rock soundtrack, the story details the rise and fall of Hill, a half-Irish, half-Sicilian New York kid who grows up idolizing the "wise guys" in his impoverished Brooklyn neighborhood. This movie was just fantastic with no words to say. The directing and the acting was excellent.

Great movie Great Actors , awsome scenes , the only real problem i have noticed ..is not actually about the movie but more on the basic substence by that a mean that the underline of the movie protrais Ray Liotta caracter almost has a okay guy and he almost does not do anything at all ...like come on ! 25 years in the mafia and the guy never robbed someone ,killed ,beat to a pulp , and more ..anyways im off topic ... great movie loved it (still do) sometimes watch it 2 times back to back .. thanks ..

Scorsese crafts a rise to power story with his signature combination of brutality, wit, and tragic drama. The way the swarmy rise of Ray Liotta's Henry Hill switches from glamour to paranoia is intriguing to watch and Scorsese pulls off the transition through the years of the gangster's life with ease. The talented cast (including staples of the genre - De Niro & Pesci) shines, particularly Pesci who uses his pint-sized anger to full effect as a bratty mobster heir.

Personally, this is my favorite mob/gangster movie. It is not as creative and well-written as The Godfather series, but is a damn good watch. Great actors acting out great characters with a great story. A thrilling ride in the highs and lows of gangster life. A MUST-SEE before you die movie.
