Quite a trip - in a good way - as Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead craft a mind-bending, time-twisting sci-fi tale that is interesting and, at times, quite fun. The duo has gone on to make bigger films, but I think this one definitely has its charms - and given the limited budget - leaves a great and lasting impression. Check it out if you prefer your movies outside the norm.

Not since "Donnie Darko" have a I seen a movie like this one. "The Endless" is surreal, disorienting, surprisingly funny, and has one of the most original screenplays written in a while. The movie is also remarkably well-made despite a low budget and binds together intelligent themes such as unearthing our past and searching for a purpose. "The Endless" doesn't just deserve a watch, but also a rewatch, and then a re-rewatch just to ensure you didn't miss anything.
