Nicolas Cage manages to steal the show with only 10 seconds of screen time. Amazing. Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino = A bloody good time

While I'm not the biggest fan of the era of cinema this genre film celebrates, the resulting mish-mash of nostalgia and sleaze is a wild and often fun ride. The Robert Rodriguez-directed zombie flick is the standout, featuring a collection of outlandish characters and effects. That film and the following, more talky Tarantino film don't exactly fit well together, but, taken separately, they each hold their own merits. The Rodriguez film is more fun and schlocky, while the Tarantino film is smarter and more thematically-rich.

Of the two films, Planet Terror is the better one. Death Proof is much weaker, but still a great movie. Put these great films together and what do you get? Grindhouse! Overall, its just a fun movie experience for fans of cinema. A must see.

Two crazy, well made flicks that revel in the B-grade entertainment of their inspiration. Throw in some old-school movie advertisements and a handful of fake trailers that are even more exploitive than the two films and the end result is a near 3 hour blast of cinema loving fun. One of the greatest theater going experiences I've had.

Great throwback to the grindhouse scene with two offerings that are sure to disgust, disturb and freak out a lot of people... which means of course I loved it. Plus the trailers were great too.
