Woody Allen takes the concept of sibling rivalry to a whole new level in "Hannah and Her Sisters." It's charming, funny, and is one of the iconic directors best films.

Woody Allen shouldn't have been a side character in this movie. If the entire film was just about his existential crisis and skipped all of the sisters' stories, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. As it is, this was sort of a disappointment.

Typical Woody Allen fare that's witty and well observed as well as being irritatingly affected and indistinguishable from a lot of his other work. It's more tolerable than most because the large ensemble cast afford less screen time to the neurotic, self obsessed man himself.

This is simply a great film. Well acted, written, and directed, Hannah and Her Sisters is a masterpiece. Woody Allen is truly one of the great treasures of American film and this is an incredible effort.

Woody can entertain, but drama about sisters looking for their happiness by changing their partners isn't material for good film

Structurally, and writing-wise, it isn't my favorite Allen film, as it gets a little too conventional & cliched at times. Michael Caine really elevates the material with a genial and convincing performance and the film does feature quite a few quirky and funny moments. Not as touching as Annie Hall or Manhattan, but still strong.

Woody Allen style drama plus comedy. It was like his films, if you like his style of all characters bizarrely examining themselves all the time and the different characters examining each other than you'll like this. I think it is okay but not a great film because his style is always obvious and to me it always feels slightly strange. Oscar win Best Supporting Actor Michael Caine 4/5- Caine is good at spouting Allen's dialogue and he is Michael Caine making it so he is somewhat good just from that usually anyways. I suppose he deserved to win just for one of his acceptable performances but this is good but he does not go beyond what you see him do normally.

Recently embarked on a Woody Allen quest, I checked this one out with hopes too high I suppose. It was disappointing, and left me with an uninteresting view of it that I can best describe as.. "yucky." Hannah is ranked as number 95 on the Writer's Guild List of the 101 Greatest Screenplays, which surprises me greatly considering it's placid plot & cheap ending.
