Why do I get the feeling that Jack Black was supposed to play the character of Barley Lightfoot instead of Chris Pratt?

Oh man, didn't expect this movie would make me cry! The brothers storyline got me despite seeing it coming. It's amazing how all the foreshadowing worked effectively in this film that is not only heartwarming but really eye-opening. For me, there's a cohesive theme of not forgetting your roots and the people who have been there for you.

Pixar still has the magic, but compared to some of my personal favorites, Onward falls just a bit short. I really enjoyed the fantasy setting and the brothers' journey - and, was it just me, or did anyone else think Barley (Chris Pratt) really should have been voiced by Jack Black? In any case, it has all the fun and adventure you would expect, but it's one for the younger crowd for sure.

Pixar creates their best work when they aren't aiming for the easiest target audience. "Onward" is enchanting, but it won't be as appealing to mature viewers as it is to younger ones.

okay so lets start by saying i personally didnt know what to expect from this one but wow wow wow the humor was funny the story was good and that grad ol disney message was there to rely on i loved the fat brother and the action was another good point so fast moving and fun really enjoyable i gotta say if your kids cant handle grief well then you might wanna wait till dvd release date for this one but this was a fantastic movie and i can honestly recommend it to everyone though its a tough subject its beautifly mastered TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP
