Full of murky blues and mustard yellows, not to mention some choppy editing and scenes that are way too low lit, "The Half-Blood Prince" has to be the ugliest Harry Potter film of them all. Thankfully, the writing adds in substance what the visuals lack in appeal.

Entering the sixth year of Hogwarts, Harry Potter has a lot to contend with. While Voldemort continues his rise in power, Harry must confront the past to assure his future. And then there's relationships, Draco Malfoy and Quidditch to deal with as well. This has to be my least favorite harry potter film in the series. The movie is slow and new characters that I don't care about. the only good thing in this movie is the visual effect's and the acting and the way the movie looks.

The best film in the series, just a terrific film. Visually stunning and perfectly acted, The Half Blood Prince builds perfectly to a brilliant, emotional, and effective ending.

There are still some witty moments and harrowing visuals, but this film feels like more of a set-up piece to the final installment that follows. The film moves along at a slow and expositionary pace and dwells far too much on weepy melodrama than on the inventive magic of the first films.

Dumbledore visits professor Horace Slughorn to influence him to teach again. Albus has plans to get the correct memories of Horace with the aid of Harry. To defeat Voldemort, Harry needs to acquire the memory. These were the significant scenes of the film. The snail pace story about the feelings of Hermione for Ron and Ginny with Harry was okay. It had a few funny moments and very dark mood since the murder of Dumbledore. Rickman and Carter were really good; overall it wasn’t that satisfying though. Compared to the rest, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was not as fascinating except for the vital revelations in the near conclusion.

This is another great addition to the Harry Potter series! The acting has improved considerably and the film itself is much darker than the other movies.

Movie is good, but books are much better. The first two of this series of movies were great. The following, including this one not so much. If you haven't read the books then that is what you are really missing out on. This movie is very long, honestly a 750 plus book seemed to go faster.

A much weaker Harry Potter film this time. when watching it and seeing all the things taken out from the book I wondered how anyone could understand some of the things going on. Now I do not think the film needs to be pure completely to the book but I feel this time it stays to faithful with the romantic intrigues and not faithful enough with everything else. I still enjoyed watching it as a way to see a version of how the book is shown on screen. It might be the worst Potter film because of the Haphazard and rushed ending that is not in the book. It is still good though and if you liked the other films you are most likely going to enjoy this itn just is not as good as it might have been if they focused on the main plot a little more.

Like the book this installment of harry potter was a bit slow. The movie and the book both suffer from a hurry up and wait plot that makes it difficult to stay fully engrossed. That being said I thought the film did a good job of telling the story and setting up some important plot points for the final movies. The acting was quite good in this one as well.
