Very enlightening film revolving around the "cliques" and power struggles of the American teenager. The symbolism of the colors and the infamous "croquet game" leave a lot for the viewer to ponder. While the film lent itself to very dark humor, it had a very bright message. The most significant scene was the last. Que Sera Sera.....

"Heathers" is one of those movies you aren't sure if you want to like. It finds a twisted way of associating psychopathy with teenage life, and really puts the 'dark' In dark comedy.

High School black comedy about murder and suicide. Very different and entertaining.

This dark comedy is anchored by its wry sense of wit and the sarcastic performances of WInona Ryder and Christian Slater. It takes the John Hughes high school nostalgia and turns it on its head in a film that foreshadows schools shootings but somehow avoids complete morbidity by not taking itself too seriously.

I babysat for some girls who recommended this movie to me, so I was instantly suspicious of this movie. But it was really good. Whether or not it could be made today (it probably wouldn't be), it was good for what it was. And incredibly entertaining and dark. I like all this.

This is the anti-John Hughes high school film - a dark comedy that deals in murder and mayhem in the same sweet setting. The popular in-crowd will never feel safe again.
