The bad guy who will not die. The villain here does it all. He murders innocent people for no real reason. He takes a hostage in front of a cop, then kills her for no good reason again, and still escapes the cop chasing him. Finally it end in on one of the most unrealistic scenes in film, thoroughly unsatisfying end.

Gene Hackman heads up an otherwise lacklustre cast in a heist movie about an ageing thief who is blackmailed into performing one last job. As hackneyed as that synopsis sounds, it doesn't quite sum up just HOW uninspired this all is. The dialogue is cliched and occasionally embarrassing, the plot implausible and lacking in humour, and all of it's so-called twists can be seen lumbering over the horizon from a mile away. Not completely awful, but in the end it's nothing more than 90 minutes of "So what?"

Probably one of the best heist movies I've ever seen, which I guess, is why they named it Heist.

Occasionally entertaining, but only just. For a David Mamet film there are some terrible lines of dialogue. 'He's so cool, when he goes to bed, sheep count him'. Being just one of them. And while the actors are good, they don't have the chops to speak his best lines. Its messy, and complicates itself to the point of stupidity, but the heists themselves are quite fun.
