More magical, colorful, and fanciful than the first "Puss in Boots," "The Last Wish" is an overdue sequel that's better than it has any right to be.

"I am Death. And I don't mean it metaphorically or rhetorically or poetically or theoretically or any other fancy way. I AM DEATH. STRAIGHT UP!" What started as a typical kids/family movie, 5-10 minutes in, but as soon as Puss first fights the wolf character, which ends with blood running down the cat’s face, then having his life flashes before his eyes, and feeling absolute fear. After that scene, I knew this be better than the first movie and my expectations beforehand. Eleven years later, the sequel surpassed the first film in terms of animation, humour, and mature themes. I am honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one.
