Adrien Brody does well as Louis Simo, the detective who is seemingly unaware of his own desperation to make a name for himself by solving the mystery of George Reeves' death. This is an interesting movie with much to say about the price of fame especially as Simo is the perfect counterpoint for George Reeves' character, a man who did not value his own celebrity status. That being said, the movie itself doesn't quite accomplish it's goals but the journey is certainly worth a look.

Moves pretty slow for this kind of noir/thriller type movie, but I thought the story was handled well though it plays more like a what-if history lesson than a true crime story. Adequate attempt - though if you have no interest in sordid Hollywood history it might bore you easily.

An interesting subject matter is handled incredibly average. The performances, the dialogue, the plotting come straight out of Nior/Thrillers for Dummies!! Nothing really positive to mention.

Ben Affleck does not redeem himself here and finally show his acting ability like some claim. The story could have been interesting but it failed to use any real historical facts in the investigation portion of it. The Reeves story is standard Hollywood tale nothing special for it whatsoever. The investigation fails because it does not try hard enough to give a theory. Needed a better script really. Wish it focused on the real investigation since th one in this is a fictional character with a fictional investigation.

Ignore the hype for this movie. It is a train wreck, a disaster! The woman who played Rita Hayworth didn't even look like her at all.

I was severely let down with Ben Affleck?s performance. Yes, it was better than usual, but his fake accent went in and out. The movie itself was not a good Film Noir movie. See the Black Dahlia if you can take the length of it.
