Never evolving beyond its premise, "Spiderhead" feels like an overextended but incomplete episode of "Black Mirror."

It seems like every Netflix original has an interesting premise and a half-baked execution. While Miles Teller, Chris Hemsworth and Jurnee Smollett are solid, the film itself is only mildly entertaining and you can see the twists coming a mile away. It's not so much bad as just bland.

More a thriller than an action film, this Netflix scifi drama does benefit from Chris Hemsworth as a morally ambiguous scientist experimenting on convicts in a drug trial. There are some unsettling moments like a suicide scene and characters freaking out on drugs. But it is boring at times.
