While this may not technically be the first Hungarian horror film, it certainly is the most widely known - even being submitted for that country's Oscar nominee. Though it has its moments, this is uneven at best with some moments more laughable than scary and an uncomfortable relationship between WWI survivor-turned-post-death photographer Tomas (Viktor Klem) and his other-worldly muse, 10-year-old Anna (Fruzsina Hais). This has a Gothic horror vibe going for it, some decent makeup effects and an interesting puppet-like movement but it's not going to give Ari Aster or Blumhouse a run for their money.
