I have no idea if this is faithful to the original show or not. But it’s a charming and breezy action-comedy. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt had pretty good chemistry together. The metahumor surrounding the making of the movie-within-a-movie was fun.

Even for an escapist junk food movie "The Fall Guy" was pretty awful. The action portions aren't all that, and I thought the love story between Gosling and Blunt was toxic to the point of stomach turning.
