Buckets of blood and black humor abound in this new entry into the venerable series. While Sam Raimi isn't directing and Bruce Campbell only has a small voice cameo (both served as executive producers as well), the spirit is alive and well as a family must come to grips with the Necronomicon and the demons it unleashes: note, it doesn't end well. Props to the core cast with Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland carrying the adult weight and Nell Fisher as a scene-stealing youngest daughter. If you've enjoyed the series up until now - this is a worthy continuation.

It is confirmed: there has never been a bad Evil Dead movie (so far). Also, I feel so bad for the family, lol.

"Evil Dead Rise" is a good addition to the franchise for its intense, no-holds gore and action.

They could have set this movie in any city and they chose Los Angeles.
