I hated this movie. I have to admit I enjoyed the first movie but this movie makes the first movie look like a cop out.

More of the same, but with less scares (since it's virtually the same as the first film, we kind of expect the scares this time around) and with an unpleasant misogynistic streak running through the violence.

Holy hell. I thought the first one was terrible, but this one was even worse. Pssh, gore? Give me a break, this doesn't have s*** on the classic horror films. Not even mentioning how they took the idea off Saw and a older film called Cube Zero. Hostel: Part II is the same thing as the first peice of s*** only instead of guys... It's girls. Stay away form this film and anything else Eli Roth puts his name on.

This movie was better than the first one. I liked the way they actually made sense of what was actually going on the first movie. I also love to see movies where the chick kicks ass. The main character in the movie was hard-core and I loved it.

A gory sequel which tries to get the audience to identify with its repugnant characters; not only does it glorify the violence, but sometimes it wants us to laugh at at-- fortunately, there are some well directed moments to compensate wading through the seedier moments. Final Grade: C

An improvement on the first, but not enough to rise above it. Only for those who liked the previous film.

I really don't know what to feel about this movie. I'm the kind of film maniac that can withstand a lot of violence in films, but I definitely cringed when it came to some scenes on this sequel. I appreciate that we get to learn more about the money-driven people behind all the torture but, other than that, it's pretty much empty. It's not a bad movie. It's just that I constantly found myself asking, "What's the point?" The best scene was definitely the death of Heather Matarazzo's character. After they killed her off, it went downhill from there. A good movie to let someone watch who is easily freaked out.

Script interesting; acting not terrible; ideas work and ending will leave you screeming.
