This movie almost got me fooled. I thought I was going to be disappointed and hate this movie. The first act is honestly slow and sometimes even boring. But as soon as Michael Keaton literally shows up as Beetlejuice, the movie springs back to life. The afterlife scenes are as fun and imaginative as in the original movie. Willem Dafoe and Monica Bellucci are both having fun as two undead side characters with their own agenda. Keaton still got it as Beetlejuice. Was it needed? Of course not. But it is worth a look.

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" starts and stops as Michael Keaton enters and exits the screen, but there's enough manic energy and unique personality of the original to recapture most of what made "Beetlejuice" from 1988 so special.
