"Hudson Hawk" is the example of how NOT to make an action-comedy. It's uncomfortably over the top and isn't the least bit funny. This dud of a movie can only be remembered for how bad it is.

This movie is f^cking insane. It's a miracle by itself that they actually spent $70 million on Hudson Hawk. On its surface it looks like a run of the mill star vehicle for Bruce Willis. That's a tenth of this movie's outrageous absurdity that includes museum heists, prison breaks, evil corporations, knife wielding butlers, twin bodyguards, Vatican spies, Leonardo Da Vinci, clockwork doomsday devices, musical numbers, ambulance chases, and all THAT is only half the movie! It has to be seen be believed though. In some respects, I applaud it for its insanity but at the same time, it's relentless.

I was expecting much from Michael Lehmann after the moments of genius contained within his previous film, Heathers but this is a criminally self-indulgent mess. Some of the "jokes" made me physically cringe and Richard E Grant & Sandra Bernhardt manage to be even more unwatchably irritating than Andie MacDowell. Awful in every department.

Bruce Willis never really disappoints me when it comes to his movies. This movie came out around the time he was releasing music albums under the name "Bruno". While his music career never took off his acting career always remains top notch. He plays a well known cat burglar that just got released from prison only to be told that he has no choice but to get back into the game. I recommend this for people that are not looking for sophisticated comedy, and would really prefer to see something that it more just mindless fun.
