Either one of the dumbest or one of the smartest satires ever conceived. "Idiocracy" may not have gotten it just right when first released, but with time more and more of it has become noticeably spot on.

The social commentary in this movie is pretty funny, albeit thick. It is pretty funny. The movie also shows why Luke Wilson is a B-List actor, as his performance was weak and one-dimensional.

The beginning was hilarious, where the intelligent well off couple are saying its not economically feasible to have children. Meanwhile the dumber trashy couple are popping out enough kids to fill a daycare. After that the movie isn't that good. I bump up my rating because it has a great idea of poking fun at one of the disturbing realities of todays world.

At times, the social satire is overbearing and obvious, but that doesn't mean the film isn't laugh-out-loud funny. One of the most quotable comedies of recent years.

This movie had potential, started off with a decently original idea and good explanation but went south pretty fast. There's very little.. if any actual humor here it's not so much a comedy as it is less serious drama. If you have absolutley nothing better to do then watch it but really it's completely forgettable if not boring. The premise was good but movie itself needed alot more work.

Very original and funny story that is powered by smarts.

This movie was great. Sheer awesomeness. The characters were halarious. A great comedy for anyone. This movie will appeal to the surface level humor of anyone but then also to the deeper, sharper humor of satire. It is very clever and subtle.

Inane, completely unfunny and absolutely painful satire; an utter mess with exasperating performances and no evident merit whatsoever. Final Grade: F

The reason I think this works was that the future posed doesn't seem that far-fetched, if not a little over-the-top. In a future where everyone is really dumb, acting takes a backseat. It's the story that makes it work.
