A political drama with good intentions but it feels oddly edited. Scenes abruptly end in a fade-out as if it's a commercial break. Juliette Binoche is not bad nor is Samuel L. Jackson. Though their sudden romantic subplot feels forced and rushed.

Half-hearted, heavy-handed drama with weak characterizations and a falseness to its relationships; the truth is, racial politics should be more compelling, especially when Samuel L. Jackson and Juliette Binoche are involved. Final Grade: a generous C+
