The story is summed up in the title. But the sets, the size of the cast, and the costumes are outstanding. I cannot fathom how they accomplished this in 1916. This movie was made literally A HUNDRED YEARS AGO and its production design looks more realistic than most blockbusters these days.

There were certain parts about it that I didn't really like. But, Constance Talmadge's character more than made up for it. Also, the imagery was very elaborate for its time.

A more than 3 hour silent film with 4 different stories. Seems like an educational documentary than a film because of its style of direction. The Babylonian story was the best in my opinion. The costumes, set pieces and locations were pretty to look at, not much to talk about in regards to the characters. Intolerance is a decent drama but well directed for its time.

Although it's occasionally difficult to sit through this long silent film, the set pieces and masterful handling of plot across several periods of history make it an intriguing first look into the beginnings of cinematic storytelling.

I give it 1 star for the amazing set pieces, realistic action, and decent concepts. Still its is badly dated and not very entertaining. I know its really old but that doesn't mean its a classic. Stay away unless you enjoy silent classics.
