Steve Martin will always be a comedy treasure, but this movie is an unfocused, undisciplined mess that rattles off jokes that almost always land flat.

Steve Martin says "I was born a poor black child'. If you get that, watch this funny, funny, movie. If not, hand the DVD to someone with a sense of humor.

This film is so silly and enjoyable, it's like an adventure; taking place during Steve Martin's greatest era. It will surprise you how oblivious Navin is to basic society. You'll certainly crack up at the corny mishaps that keep this film alive. This movie is so widely loved by movie buffs, that it most likely has at least another thirty years in it.

Unbridled silliness. Several great quotes. Lots of the jokes induce giggles, but quite a few miss the target. The horn solo was probably my favorite

Somewhat of a hodge podge of comedic scenes, but each scene works because of Steve Martin's impeccable comic timing. Though Steve Martin plays a very dimwitted character, the writing and dialogue is razor sharp and produces many classic lines and moments.

This character just might be the dumbest character in all of movie history. And, that's really saying a lot! There are so many classic lines in this movie. It's just a really, really funny movie.

While it may not be gut-busting hilarious, Steve Martin still delivers an unforgettable performance of a dim-witted man who manages to make a fortune, then lose it all. Still funny after all these years.
