Really fun movie! Great for the whole family! Great color and effects! I liked all the characters in this film. It's a movie you will enjoy watching over and over.

A stupid scientist and his stupid nephew travel to Iceland to investigate some seismic activity. They find themselves on a journey to another land that exists only in the center of the earth. This movie has alright visual effect's but the acting is bad and the 3-D is not so good.

Decent adventure film for the family that boasts some fun and impressive 3-D.

There's sort of a zany fun in this adventure film. Yes, it bends the rules of science and is utterly ridiculous, but there's a sort of careless energy to the ridiculousness. I'm sure it was much better in 3-D. The huge hangup, though, is the effects. They are horrific - the most painfully obvious green-screen and CGI work in years.

I did not see the 3-D version, but the standard version is a pretty average action/adventure fare aimed at the younger crowd. Brendan Fraser plays the same average hero, the visuals are pretty good the story only OK. Decent watch.

The writing of this movie was pretty bad. The dialogue was stilted and irritating and the whole movie pretty much spits in the face of science. It was fairly exciting though and the visuals were pretty neat (even if they didn't really look that believable who doesn't like glowing birds and sea monsters?) Most of the excitement and interesting pieces came from Verne. The execution and narrative thread really weren't compelling or well done at all. Probably not worth seeing but it was ok.

A good kid's adventure movie but haven't we seen enough of Brendan Fraser playing the same character in every movie. I watched this on DVD in 3-d. The 3-d added a bit to the movie but there were scenes that served no purpose other than to add to the 3-d effects. I didn't care for that part of it. There was one point where I actually moved my head to avoid a flying object, but the rest of the movies 3-d effects were hardly that good. The story was interesting enough, I never saw the original so I don't know how similar it is. But I would say this is a great movie for kids to watch and maybe could even become a classic like the Goonies or Never Ending Story for that age group.
